🎮 Monster Hunter Wilds - Performance Follow-up

So I wanted to make another post about Monster Hunter Wilds and its performance issues. I'm always surprised when I go to the Steam page and see it's mostly negative reviews - but only for a moment, before remembering what a hassle it was for me to get it working properly myself.

Recently I was having problems again with it, and after playing with the settings for a while, I found a PC performance guide on the Steam forums. So I wanted to shout that out, it's over here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3436896664

I also want to note what my problem was this time. While I did go through the guide and tweak things for my video card, some specific game settings, etc. I believe the main issue was the shader file. Every time there's a major update, the game recompiles the shaders. And apparently there must be something wrong with this process, because it seems every time this happens, the game gets laggier.

Fortunately there was an easy fix for me: delete the shader file. That'll force it to recompile again, but it'll be to a brand new file rather than writing into the old one. This is mentioned in the guide I linked, but the specific file is shader.cache2 in your Monster Hunter Wilds directory. Toss it on your desktop if you're scared and then run the game, it'll just recreate it.
