📝 Apothecaria - a solo rpg
I'm thinking of typing up my Apothecaria game and sharing it here. It's a solo rpg, meant to be done as a journaling game. I have a handful of entries in a notebook and it might be fun to start sharing them here as well. I haven't played in a while, so honestly going through and re-typing them might help me refresh so I can start playing again.
Apothecaria sort of advertises itself as a Stardew Valley sort of game, but with journaling. The idea is you (or your character, as in my case I'm using a D&D character of mine) move to a cozy village called High Rannoc to become their new apothecary, as their previous one disappeared. You're the village healer, which means you're tending to sick patients, gathering reagents, and also trying to figure out what happened to the previous apothecary - as a bonus. It's a long-term journaling game that you come to as you have time, and if I'm remembering correctly, you use a deck of cards to determine what happens.
I've been thinking of getting back into it lately, but want to make sure I actually do rather than just psyching myself up and putting it down again. I seem to remember it having quite a few rules though, so it's a little intimidating. So maybe I'll re-read what I've done, type it up, and play some more rounds of it. If I actually get a few new entries done, I'll post my write-ups here. Or if it ends up being too difficult to remember how to get back into it, maybe I'll look for another solo rpg to start.
